Personal or Family?

Before you buy a Microsoft 365 subscription, decide how many people will use it. The Personal plan is for one person, signed in on five devices at once. Family is shared with five other people in your household; each keeps their own account, files and 1 TB of storage.

From two users upwards, Family is cheaper per person.

What both plans include

Both include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote on PC and Mac, Access on PC, the full apps on iPhone, iPad and Android, Microsoft Defender and Copilot features under Microsoft’s terms. The only difference is the number of people.

The apps update themselves — you get new features without buying a new version.

How the 12-month code works

You redeem the code at setup.office.com with your Microsoft account. If you already have an active Microsoft 365 subscription, the 12 months are added to your expiry date — no day is lost. Activated by code, the plan does not renew automatically. Microsoft lets you stack up to five years ahead.

Subscription or one-time license?

The subscription includes every new feature, cloud storage and use on several devices. If you prefer to pay once for a single computer, an Office 2024 license may be all you need.
